Hello there my fellow notebook aficionados so let us say you are in the market for slim lightweight notebook that you can easily tailor to your specific use case and you also want a choice between Intel or AMD CPUs and integrated or dedicated GPU options then you might want to have a closer look at lenovo's yoga lineup while it is easy to get lost with the variety of options available and different naming schemes in different markets do not have either those puppies are solid workhorses all around we had a pleasure to test three different skus that share the same chassis but came in vastly different configs that might make these very interesting for many of you guys thank you the yoga Pro 7 or slim 7 Pro how it's called in the US I have Variety in front of me is the most affordable of the bunch coming with team red century plus refresh t7735hs and no dedicated GPU if you want a bit more in the graphics Department we also tested the same model but with an RTX 3050 both models share their memory and storage configuration with a one terabyte SSD and 16 gigs of very Snappy LP ddr5 6400 Ram in the display Department both come with 90 Hertz QHD plus screens but the RTX 3050 variant is a glossy touch panel while the one right here comes with a matte non-touch screen if you want to take things even further you can also opt 14 blue silicon the i7 13700h 16 gigs of ddr5 5200 RAM and RTX 4050 and a high-res 3K display refreshing at 120 hertz the desired core components of your choosing a house in a very elegant looking all-aluminum shell that either comes in subtle dark gray on this
awesome title tier color we showed you guys in our Hands-On for the yoga Pro 9. there is absolutely nothing to complain about this one in terms of stability or build quality the hinges are smooth and well adjusted there's no flex anywhere not even with the display lid and overall the yoga Pro is a great everyday Computing companion the port situation is pretty decent for such a slim machine all models share the same port layout and on the left you can find an HDMI 2. 1 and 2 usbcs on the right Lenovo made room for the power button a mechanical webcam switch the audio combo port and a single USB a 3.2 gen 1. while both usbcs on the Intel model support Thunderbolt 4 the AMD powered variants come with a single usb4 while the second Port is of the 3.2 Gen 2 variety wireless communication may not offer class leading but still very good and stable transfer rates the 1080p webcam that is placed in a reverse Notch above the screen is definitely not the sharpest we have seen lately but colors and contrast
do still look relatively natural in the maintenance department you can easily access the two fans the nvme slot and the Wi-Fi card it may not be a ThinkPad but the yoga Pro left us pretty impressed with its keyboard with a generous 1.5 millimeters of travel and a clear and satisfying pressure point while also keeping noise levels in check most of you guys will probably like this one a lot some of you might have grabs of the layout though especially the smaller up and down Keys might throw you off if you use them regularly the touchpad worked well and without any problems just the clicks feel a little cheap while both of our AMD review units came with the same 16x10 QHD Plus panel apart from the touch functionality the Intel version came with a slightly higher rest panel with a 3072 by 1920 pixel resolution both screen variants deliver an excellent everyday viewing experience but the faster panel has the edgewift overall better specs speaking of speed while it's great to see the departure from 60hz screens even in non-gaming laptops response times are still pretty slow for both panel options if you plan to use your yoga Pro for work in a visual profession be it as a designer a photographer or video editor you might want to opt for the high-res panel since it offers wider color garments and better color reproduction if you do not plan to run your new laptop at Full Throttle all the time the AMD silicon should still be fast enough for almost everything you come across during everyday use that said the Intel i7 13700h is faster across the board and the Zen 3 plus refresh is especially losing ground in
single threaded workloads while the raptorlex CPU comes with a hybrid architecture with six hyper threading capable performance cores and 8 efficiency cores team red silicon Sports a more traditional 8 core layout that all Support amd's smt Tech allowing for two threads per CPU core system performance is very good for all the variants we have tested but our PC mug benchmarks revealed some irregularities while the yoga Pro with the dedicated RTX 4050 and Intel CPU is quite a bit ahead the AMD powered variant without the RTX 3050 can actually set itself apart from its sibling benchmarks aside the yoga Pros or slim 7 Pros however you want to call them are amazing performance notebooks that are suitable for a lot of different use cases and they can even do some heavy lifting if you do not want to get them just for watching Netflix or Word and Excel documents you know the drill by now if you want to dive deeper into our benchmarking results or if you are interested in individual test scores please head over to our written reviews my colleagues Ellen and Andreas spend a ton of time testing the yogas thoroughly so please check out their article through the links in the description dry speeds are very Snappy across the board but the Intel model and the AMD model without the RTX 3050 had to throttle their Drive speeds after a couple of minutes during our benchmarks this will hardly matter during regular use but it's something to be aware of nonetheless in the GPU Department it's of course not really a fair fight between the variants we have tested that said if you do not plan to do a lot of gaming or use GPU intensive applications the integrated 680m from last year can still hold its own especially against Intel igpus both the RTX 3050 and the RTX 4050 are significantly faster of course but they better beam the 4050 can also rely on 2 gigs of additional video memory compared to its 2022 sibling while I wasn't able to test the small Ada card for video editing workflow our blender test results hints at the content creation prowess the RTX 4050 might provide if you want to use these for some after work virtual entertainment you should definitely opt for the dedicated gpus as well while the native resolution or even the native refresh rates will be Out Of Reach For All GPU options especially the 4050s Q can easily deliver a smooth gaming experience in 1080P and high settings every yoga Pro variant we have tested has the potential to be both a very quiet system and also to be pretty noisy when you push the slim machines under full load the noise is dependent on the performance profile so you might want to
think about sacrificing some performance for a quieter Computing experience overall I only have the AMD version without the dedicated GPU at hand so keep that in mind for our noise samples you can get an even better experience what to expect from these with our measured DB numbers on our website I also added a sample for the yoga speakers so you can experience for yourself how this one sounds when you want to make some noise [Music] g7735hs in the yoga Pro might just be a refresh of a 2022 CPU but it can still show the competition where it's at in terms of battery life more than 13 hours in our Wi-Fi standard test is pretty impressive and will turn the small 14-inch notebook into a great office school or university companion both models with dedicated gpus cannot quite keep up but with 10 hours in the same test they offer quite a bit of endurance as well all right folks it is time to wrap it up for today Lenovo did a lot of things right with their 2023 yoga Pro slim Seven Something lineup you get a sturdy chassis sensible CPU and GPU options a great display very good input and a solid arrangement of ports and everything is neatly packed in a subtle yet not boring form factor add in the very attractive pricing especially for the AMD igpu variant that I have right here and you get a combination that is very tough to beat right now but these guys let us know what you think about these and which configuration would be your preferred pick sound of in the comments below that would be it for today please make sure to subscribe to the channel like the video and check out our written
